Why I became a broker

[Transcript from video]

Hi, I’m Peter Glein and I’m a broker with ReMax Exclusive in Gig Harbor. I believe that it’s important for any venture to have a purpose, and so I wanted to share mine with you. First, as a mortgage loan officer for over 15 years, I met a lot of real estate agents; some good, some not-so-good ones. What always frustrated me about some agents was when they would put their own needs ahead of their clients. Things like pushing aside legitimate concerns about the property, or steering customers to in-house or preferred lenders because they would get a referral bonus. If they’re not looking out for their client’s interest in those situations, what else are they doing? I just don’t want that happening to people….especially those close to me.

Second, both in my time as a lender, and in my personal life, I’ve seen how investing in real estate can be transformative for peoples lives. I’ll give you an example: After selling the home that he raised my brother and I in, my dad said, “You know, that house turned out to have the best rate of return of any investment I’ve ever made.” And if you know him, that’s saying something. Inspired by that, Beth and I bought our first house just a couple years later. That, along with the properties that followed, ultimately set us on a path for success that we simply wouldn’t have experienced otherwise.

But an investment in real estate isn’t just financial. It’s in investment in yourself, in your family, and in your future. A home isn’t just a place where you live, or something that you hope to sell for a gain. It influences who you will become in the time you live there. It shapes your daily life, from your routines to your social circles. It impacts what schools your children will attend and who their friends will be. Whether you’re looking for a house on a quiet cul-de-sac or something with light-life around the corner, where you choose to live MATTERS.

I want to help people find the right place and buy it the right way; and I will always put your interest first.
